Flirsch am Arlberg - 1,157 m
The pretty little village of Flirsch is set in the western high alpines – in Stanzertal between Landeck and St Anton am Arlberg. It is the starting point for many mountain and cross-country hiking tours with varying degrees of difficulty. Day excursions can be undertaken to neighbouring Switzerland, Italy, Bavaria and Liechtenstein. There are beautiful excursion destinations and bathing opportunities in the surrounding area to make your holiday relaxing, varied and eventful.
The name Flirsch comes from the Rhaeto-Romanic name for flower and the unique flora is still renowned today. The landscape-protected area of Mösli, east of the Alpe Ganatsch is impressive proof. Apart from a visit to the 14th century parish church of Saint Bartholomew, the Lourdes chapel and the tradition-steeped woodcarving are also well worth an outing.
