NEW Schindlergratbahn

Spectacular new construction of the "Schindlergratbahn" in the ski resort of St. Anton am Arlberg

New Schindlergratbahn

A mountain cable car institution bows its way out of St. Anton am Arlberg ski resort after 40 years of faithful service. The Schindlergrat chairlift, famous for its spectacular views, is being replaced by a state-of-the-art 10-seater gondola lift in time for the 2019/20 winter season.

The ingenious aspect: by using the same routing, guests will have the opportunity to get off at the same level as the previous mountain station in future. Those who remain seated, however, will reach the terminus 420 metres further northeast, where the Schindlerkar, Mattun or Valfagehr runs can be skied. Thanks to this, visitors to the birthplace of alpine skiing gain not only piste diversity, but also enhanced comfort, as the new Schindlergratbahn with 68 cabins has a conveyance capacity of 2,800 passengers per hour.
