Current information from the ski resort for the winter season 20/21
There are currently no definitive regulatory Covid 19 protection measures for the coming winter. However, based on the currently valid regulations and the fact that health protection in the ski area is of course the top priority, the Arlberger Bergbahnen are happy to provide the following information in this context with their current knowledge:
- A mouth and nose protector (MNP) must be worn in all cable car/lift buildings (access, exit, ticket office, etc.), in the queuing areas and on all cable car/lift trips (drag lifts, chair lifts, reversible aerial trams, single-cable ropeways, etc.). In addition to the familiar mouth-nose protection masks, multifunctional cloths, buffs, bandanas, ski masks etc. are also possible according to the current state of knowledge (however, mouth and nose must always be completely covered!). Multifunctional cloths are available on site if required.
- A safety distance of 1 meter must be maintained in all cableway/lift buildings (entrance, exit, cash desk, etc.), in the waiting areas and on all cableway/lift rides (T-bar lifts, chairlifts, aerial tramways, single-cable gondolas, etc.).
- In cableway/lift buildings and railway/lift access points, information steles and signs will be provided to inform about the Covid 19 protective measures, as well as sufficient hand disinfection facilities.
- In Austria cable railways are legally considered as public transport, a reduction of passenger capacities is currently not legally required. In any case, however, capacities are not fully utilised in the skiing area during times with lower passenger volumes. A basic limitation of passengers is not planned but may be necessary at short notice and must therefore be expressly reserved.
- The queuing areas will be optimised, and in any case an MNP is mandatory here as well.
- All cable car cabins, toilet facilities, ticket offices and other similar facilities are cleaned and disinfected regularly.
- Employees with customer contact at the cable cars and lifts are tested for Covid-19 before starting work for the first time - regular or event-related follow-up tests are planned. In addition, employees with guest contact are instructed to wear an MNP.
- An Internet ski pass sale with pickup boxes and vending machines is expected to be available at the beginning of the winter season. Holidaymakers in the Arlberg resorts can also purchase a ski pass from over 250 participating accommodation establishments on site. Day-holidaymakers can also become members of the Golden Moments Club and thus use the direct-to-lift system. These options for ski pass purchase should ensure in the best possible way that there is no large crowd at the ski pass cash desks.
- Contactless payment (also via most smartphone wallets) at the ski pass cash desks is possible and recommended.
- The Ski Arlberg APP will be updated and, if necessary, helpful information from the ski resort will be sent via this APP by means of push messages.
